The year 2020 has brought us all a whirlwind of unpredictability, anxiety and heartbreak. The pandemic has led to economic hardship, unemployment, despair and food insecurity. Luckily, we have organizations like The Giving Plate to offer compassion, hospitality, food and hope! Based in our hometown of Bend, Oregon, The Giving Plate, founded by Gary and Debra Kelso, has been feeding the hungry for over 10 years with a mission to serve our community during unpredictable times. Since 2010, The Giving Plate has supplied over 4 million pounds of food to poverty-stricken families in Central Oregon. They distribute over 8,000 boxes of food per year and provide 5 days’ worth of groceries per individual. They also run a youth-specific food bank called Kid’s Korner, which focuses on providing healthy, nutrient-dense foods for children.
Our team at JEM Organics would like to do our part to help those in need in our local community. You can help us do the giving! Between now and December 24th, JEM will donate a 6.5oz jar of JEM’s ridiculously delicious goodness to The Giving Plate for each website order placed totaling $50 or more. So... you get your favorite JEM products delivered to your home, your family and/or friends, and get the extra satisfaction of knowing that your purchase helped a family in need get their own jar of JEM for the Holidays….Definitely a win-win!
All you have to do is place your order on our website between now through December 24th in the amount of $50 or more. We will do the rest! We are keeping track of the number of orders and jars donated. After Christmas, we will report back to tell you how many gifts you and JEM donated. You can also donate directly to The Giving Plate via their website or if you’re in the Central Oregon area, you can drop off food at their designated drop off sites.
